MCP Server
Manage your tripwires from Claude, or any other client that speaks the Model Context Protocol.
tripwire-mcp gives an AI assistant a set of tools for creating, inspecting
and retiring tripwires, and for reading the detections they record. It runs on your machine and talks to this
installation over the same API the web app uses.
It acts as you: your API key, your organizations, your role. It can reach nothing you could not reach here, and nothing at all outside the organizations you belong to.
1. Get the binary
Download tripwire-mcp for your platform from the
releases page,
or build it from source with go build ./cmd/mcp.
2. Create an API key
Mint one under API Keys.
Include org:read so the server can see which organizations you belong to, plus the
tripwire scopes for what you want the assistant to be able to do — leave tripwire:delete
off if you would rather it could not remove anything.
3. Configure your client
This installation's API endpoint is ….
With Claude Code:
Or add it to a client config file (Claude Desktop and others):
Keep the key out of the file if you prefer — the server also reads
TRIPWIRE_API_KEY and TRIPWIRE_ORG from the environment.

Organizations
Share a tripwire estate with your team. Members see and manage the org's tripwires by role: owner, admin, member (full CRUD), or viewer (read-only).

Leave namespaces blank for full org access, or constrain to path:read|write pairs. Namespaces are hierarchical: a grant on team/prod also covers everything beneath it (team/prod/db).
